The Graduate Center offers fitness classes facilitated by the Doctoral Students’ Council (DSC) and the Student Affairs office. We are offering a summer Hatha Yoga session. Further information will be sent out if we are able to offer other classes.
Registration will begin on Friday, May 5 at 10:00 am in room 7301. Students, Faculty, Staff and Community Members must register in person at the Student Affairs office, room 7301. Payment is required at time of registration.
Registration and full payment are required before the first class for all classes, see schedule below. Registration is first come, first served.
Payment may be made by cash, money order or check made payable to the Graduate Center, CUNY. We regret that we cannot accept credit cards.
Fitness equipment is provided.
Bodily Postures (asanas), deep relaxation, breath control (pranayama), and mental concentration create a supple and relaxed body, increase vitality and promote radiant health.

Letting Go While Staying Connected: An Interactive Talk for Parents

This FREE workshop will address: One of the most important and challenging aspects of parenting is the capacity to “let go” of one’s child while staying connected, in small and big moments across the developmental landscape. Letting go, or separating, facilitates growth and development but often brings up complex feelings in both children and parents, which can complicate everyday events. (more…)

Do you want to know what mental health resources are available to you at the GC or through NYSHIP? Confused about what kind of therapy is right for you? At this workshop, we will answer these questions and more. (There will also be free food!)
This workshop will be led by Nicole Elden, the assistant director of student counseling services, as well as counselors Ana Munteanu, LMSW, Gregory Gagnon, MA, and Nidhi Parashar, MSW.
