Dear CUNY Colleagues:

As we approach the close of spring 2017, I am writing to inform you about a superlative learning opportunity in Albany, the New York State Assembly Graduate Internship Program.

For background purposes, a link to the current Program information/application appears below:

http://assembly.state.ny.us/internship/graduates/

(The 2018 application package will be posted shortly. It will generally follow what you’ve read above.)

The fall semester deadline for 2018 applications will be November 1. However, Program faculty and administrators in Albany are eager to consider qualified candidates—especially CUNY graduate student candidates—during the summer, where feasible.

Please encourage your graduate-level students to apply.

If you would like more information about Program, please contact the NYS Assembly Graduate Internship Program Professor-in-Residence, Dr. Janet Penksa.

Professor Penksa’s email address is as follows: penksaj@buffalostate.edu.

You may also reach her (and open up a line of communication) at penksaj@assembly.state.ny.us

Having worked with Dr. Penksa (an expert on public budgeting) and her graduate students, I can attest to the quality of this educational program. The Assembly’s Graduate Internship provides a handsome monetary award to selected students, a comprehensive academic component, and an unusual array of opportunities to secure careers in government and public affairs upon its conclusion.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. I am likewise happy to field your inquiries at any time.

Wishing you all the best,

Tony
