This panel tackles theorizing racial capitalism from three perspectives. Historically we analyze the lessons learned from early pioneers of the study of the relationship between race, caste, and class. A racial capitalism lens is also used to analyze the school-to-prison pipeline and its connection to racial authoritarianism. Finally, an alternative theoretical framework to classical racial capitalism theory is offered.
