The following internships are being offered through IDS 81620: Scholarly Praxis at Work in the World (3 units) this fall. The class meets every other Thursday, 2-4pm, and provides students with a supportive cohort of peers, an intellectual framework for connecting the internship with their academic work, and the chance to think deeply about their professional development.

The Editorial Research Intern will help Feminist Press continue our founding mission of recovering important feminist writing that has been lost to history. This intern will help identify potential book projects that have fallen out of print and should be republished and added to the literary canon. They will research, read, and report on these titles for the FP editorial team.

The Operations/Research intern willassist in various tasks, including:

  • the completion of NYC Revolutionary Trail, a large digital exhibit on New York City’s experience in the American Revolution, which serves as the basis for a multimedia tourism app project
  • the continuation of Queens Cuisines, mapping the “new Littles” (or ethnic enclaves) of the borough and identifying its dominant ethnic markets and eateries
  • the expansion of GothamEd, the organization’s online adult education (ACE) program, to include new courses, models, partnerships, and certificates/accreditation.
