January 26, 2022 | Rukshana Jalil About this position The Administrator & Web Editor reports to the Associate Director and is integral to the operations of the Center for the Humanities at the Graduate Center, CUNY by acting as a resource expert on an evolving suite of financial software and payment processes implemented by the Graduate Center’s Business Office; managing budgets for the Center’s manifold public humanities projects and events; facilitating payments for all project, event, fellowship, and operational expenses; and preparing regular financial reports to administration and foundations. As part of the Seminar on Public Engagement, this role provides core organizational support by keeping track of expenses; corresponding about payment processes with all project participants, fellows, and invited guests; ensuring that payments are made in a timely manner; as well as working one-on-one with project organizers to plan long-term project budgets and expenditures. This position also manages editing and posting short essays on our digital publication in the public humanities Distributaries and takes an active role in documenting Center for the Humanities projects by editing Annual Reports for current and prospective funders and editing posts on Distributaries that reflect and elaborate on these projects. This part-time position is 20 hours a week at $21.97 an hour, with roughly 15 hours a week devoted to administrative duties and 5 hours a week devoted to editorial work. This is a union position that allows for a flexible schedule and comes with excellent health and dental benefits. Demonstrated experience in university or nonprofit finance administration is preferred.
