October 26, 2020 | Rukshana Jalil This panel tackles theorizing racial capitalism from three perspectives. Historically we analyze the lessons learned from early pioneers of the study of the relationship between race, caste, and class. A racial capitalism lens is also used to analyze the school-to-prison pipeline and its connection to racial authoritarianism. Finally, an alternative theoretical framework to classical racial capitalism theory is offered.
