Prior to joining PUP in 2010, Al was an editor and editorial director at Blackwell Publishing and John Wiley & Sons. Al earned a BA in History from the University of Chicago and an MA in Classics from Princeton. The session will focus on academic publishing as a potential career for graduate students. Al will discuss entry into publishing as a career, the value and reward of publishing as a career, the business of publishing, and the role of academic publishing in academia. Snacks will be served.
