Dear Faculty and Students,

The NYU Center for Religion and Media and department of Cinema Studies would like to invite you to attend our upcoming screening of The Prison in Twelve Landscapes[wp.nyu.edu] on November 15, 2017.

The screening will be followed by a conversation with the filmmaker Brett Story and Angela Zito (NYU).

The Prison in Twelve Landscapes is a non-fiction film about the prison from the places we least expect to find it: the front yards, public spaces, and social rituals of everyday life. A meditation on the prison and its geographic disappearance in the era of mass incarceration, the film unfolds as a cinematic journey through a series of landscapes across the United States where prisons do work and affect lives.

You can watch a trailer for the film here[vimeo.com].

The event will take place from 6-8pm at NYU’s Michelson Theater (721 Broadway, 6th Floor)

For more information please see the attached flyer and visit our website[wp.nyu.edu].
