October 24, 2017 | Rukshana Jalil The 8th Annual Pedagogy Day conference with the theme “Cross-Pollinating Teaching and Research” will be held on October 27th, 2017 at The Graduate Center. The morning session will take place in the Segal Theater on the ground floor of The Graduate Center. Lunch and the afternoon session will take place in room 6304.01 of The Graduate Center. The conference program can be found on the event website: https://psychology.commons.gc.cuny.edu/conference/pedagogy-day-2017/ Pedagogy Day has three main goals: (1) to provide instructors with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to teach undergraduate courses at the various CUNY campuses effectively; (2) to improve the teaching of psychology by exposing instructors to evidence-based teaching strategies and techniques, and by encouraging discussions about pedagogy, mentorship, and classroom teaching among doctoral students and faculty; And (3) to encourage students and faculty across psychology and related disciplines to engage collaboratively in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning to assess learning outcomes and identify evidence of effective teaching.
