Segal Theatre at The Graduate Center, CUNY for “Art, Institutions, and Internationalism: 1933-1966,” the first day of a two-day long conference addressing art and nation building during the transition from colonial to post-colonial statehood in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, as well as socio-political changes in the Americas and Europe. Speakers include Lucia Allais, Claire Bishop, Katherine Carl, Chelsea Haines, Olga Ulloa Herrera, David Joselit, Naeem Mohaiemen, Chika Okeke-Agulu, Antonella Pelizzari, Gemma Sharpe, and more. On Wednesday, March 8th at 6:30pm in the Bartos Theater at the Museum of Modern Art (4 West 54th Street), join us for post Presents: Katy Siegel on curating the exhibition Postwar. This lecture by Katy Siegel, Eugene V. and Clare E. Thaw Endowed Chair at Stony Brook University, focuses on the collective process of curating Postwar (with Okwui Enwezor and Ulrich Wilmes), an exhibition that casts the geopolitical reorganizing most commonly called World War II as a truly worldwide event.
